Invest in Ndola Business Forum: A Resounding Success!

The Invest in Ndola Business Forum showcased a powerful commitment from the Government and business community to support Ndola’s transformation into a business, logistics, and clean green industrial hub. In line with the President’s call for districts to drive their own economic growth, Ndola is poised to reclaim its vibrancy by attracting investments in manufacturing, value addition, and logistics.
Key speakers highlighted priority areas for investment, including:
• Development of a modern logistics and warehousing park near the airport
• Revitalization of the rail system
• Waste recycling initiatives to promote circular economy practices
• Water treatment and distribution infrastructure for industrial and residential use
• Sustainable housing development in the new areas Ndola City Council is opening up
• Manufacturing facilities that leverage natural resources in Ndola and Copperbelt Province
• Renewable energy investments, particularly in solar energy
To catalyse these opportunities, stakeholders called on Ndola City Council to co-develop a 10-year investment plan, while financial institutions were urged to prepare for increased demand for capital—especially with the enactment of the Geological and Minerals Development (Local Content) Regulations, Statutory Instrument No. 68 of 2025, which will unlock new business opportunities.
At Odrin Consulting Group, we recognize that this moment calls for deeper collaboration, strategic partnerships, and inclusive platforms to share investment plans, build stakeholder capacity, and leverage collective strengths.
While the economic revitalization of Ndola promises substantial benefits for the district, Copperbelt Province, and Zambia at large, it also presents environmental and social risks that must be proactively managed. This requires integrating sustainability into every phase of development—from planning to implementation and beyond. Among the key environmental and social issues that will need to be considered include the following:
• Resource efficiency
• Pollution prevention and control
• Climate risk mitigation and adaptation
• Employment and labor standards
• Access to social services
• Health and safety
Odrin Consulting Group stands ready to support stakeholders in ensuring that environmental and social considerations are considered on journey to reposition Ndola as a Business, logistics, and Clean Green Industrial Hub.
